OUR HISTORY

1800

The creation of the exploitation

Resilient Vines

Since the death of her husband in 1916, Alice DELORME continued working alone on the farm until 1944, when her son Paul DELORME returned from the war. At that time, most of the vines had to be replanted again, because at liberation the tanks partly destroyed them. Since that time, there are still some plots that are exploited and still produce.

Inherited Terroir

Only son and orphan of father, Paul DELORME, worked alongside his mother since his earliest childhood, and quite naturally took over her suite. He had three sons himself: Pierre (the eldest who died very young), Guy and Michel, the youngest, whom he trained to work in the vineyards, and who settled with him in 1972.

Winegrower Renewal

Michel DELORME took over the farm completely in 1979, the year he married Christine. From that moment on, they worked together on the farm and contributed to its development by increasing the area of the vineyards worked and thus expanding and diversifying the wine list. They were committed to retaining customers by keeping prices affordable and by offering an attractive promotional deal at the end of each year. In order to welcome clients in a pleasant setting, they renovated and fitted out the old Saint François chapel dating from 1681 in 1996, turning it into a lovely tasting cellar.

Captain Christine

Since the sudden passing of Michel DELORME in November 2006, his wife Christine DELORME has been at the helm of this beautiful farm. Christine DELORME has always worked on the farm and wished to continue, with the help of her three employees, to keep the Domaine Michel DELORME alive, which now operates over 11 hectares of vineyards spread across about ten appellations and four grape varieties.
